What Eases The Pain For You?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi guys, im new to this place and new to the whole Fibro thing. I was wondering, what helps ease your pain?
What would you recommend i try?
Medication isn't an option for me right now, tried Duloxetine and it made me have a dissociative seizure. So giving it a while before i try any new meds.
Ive heard Epsom salts are good?
Any other suggestions?

Thank you!x

I have learned to hypnotize myself that is sooo helpful, I learned it from my psychologist. I also love a bath in baking soda and epsom salts. 1/2 cup each. It helps remove toxins from the body. No drinks with fizz, Water is best, I also restore my electrolytes drinking a gatorade once a week, also calms leg cramps. I try to drink a lot of water. I also take Probiotics 2 times daily. Seems to all work together. Hope this was helpful, Gentle Hugs!

I think that we all find different ways and much like our pain is different, so goes the way to make it better. Wow... ok.... When my lower legs were bothering me, I used to wrap them in ace bandages, this was usually at night. Why I did this, I don't even know.... but it helped.... and on occasion I still do this... and it still helps..... There's just a specific type of leg pain that I don't always get and this has helped..... bathes are my life saver ...... A regular hot bath can give me up to an hour of pain relief ..... There are times when I can't sleep and am totally exhausted, that getting into a semi-hot bath, I can actually nod off... this is a feeling I love, cause if I can, I will try to get our of the tub and into my bed and not loose that connection to sleep. It's funny to think about this stuff..... I haven't spoken of it before.... just have my little ways of helping... heating pad helps certain types of pain... I know that some have terrible headaches. I don't get many, it's rare, but when I do I am debilitated and my husband responded a few times and I adopted his action... cold (ice with a towel, or whatever) on the head. Hot (heating pad) on the feet..... you have to do both at the same time.... my headache can be manageable within 20 minutes..... that's all I have besides meds.....

Prayer, hot showers, heating pads and stretches help me and of course my therapy dog Noah always puts a smile on my face. :)
