A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've had two sleep studies, going to have another Wedesday. I've also worn a pulse ox at night at home both times it was still dropping to 88 . They have tried 2 lieters of oxygen. It still drops to 88 , or lower
Yesterday I had a lung function test, not sure how I did but think it was okay. Now Wednesday I have to do another sleep study the third this yr
Does anyone have any ideas, I'm getting concerned because it seems like it not the apenea causing it?
I'd appreciate any thoughts, anyone… read more

Hi, the reason for 3 sleep studies is. They've raised oxygen levels with no effect. They have also raised the setting on my Bipap 3 times my apnea, and hypophysis ,continue. To rise also.
This is a concern. My blood ox is fine during the day, but at night it's all over the place. And I'm exhausted.

Hi Michelle wow I only had one sleep study I have a machine but not sure how good it works can't find any one to read the memory card, I had a cold with a bad cough went to urgent care and even with a breathing treatment couldn't bring my ox up to higher then mid to low 80's. So I now have a a nebulizer that helps I will keep you in my prayers hugs and blessings

I have COPD with Asthma. I have a cpap machine as well. I went to a Pulmonary Rehab earlier this year. I found this very helpful. Being below 90 on your pulse ox does not mean you need to be on ox all the time. There are so many other factors that go into this decision. Do you have allergies, use an inhaler or resist your cpap machine? Why so many studies?

I have central sleep apnea which means my brain isn't telling my lungs to breath. Does anyone else? Even with my new fancy BiPAP machine I still can't get my nightly events below 20 and usually they're 40 to 80 events an hour. It's rather discouraging . However my oxygen levels managed to stay above 90 and frequently 95. So I don't really get a good nights sleep although I seem to sleep OK. No insomnia. I do have serious chronic fatigue which keeps me in bed a good bit of the time.
