Members widely agreed that amitriptyline helps with both fibromyalgia pain and sleep, with many describing it as a muscle relaxer rather than a painkiller that reduces morning stiffness and allows for deeper, more restful sleep. Several members shared their personal dosing routines, ranging from 20mg to 250mg nightly, and noted that it works best when combined with other treatments like muscle relaxants, TENS machines, melatonin, or additional medications to boost its effectiveness. A recurring theme was the importance of drinking plenty of water to counter dry mouth, managing expectations that it addresses muscle tightness rather than eliminating all pain, and recognizing that individual responses vary widely based on dose and supplementary therapies.
