Does anyone else have overgrown cuticles on their fingernails? Such that they get hang nails which tear and then get infected?
If so. Do you have a solution to prevent? I have read they are common in fibro but although I take vitamins for nails and skin they still keep coming...

Members connected over the shared struggle of overgrown cuticles and hangnails, which many identified as common in fibromyalgia despite taking vitamins and following regular nail care routines. Several members offered practical strategies including daily cuticle oil application, pushing back cuticles after showering, using cuticle nippers to trim excess skin rather than just pushing it back, and trying specialized products like Hoofer's Choice cuticle cream from Sally's Beauty Supply. A recurring theme was the importance of consistency in daily hydration and maintenance, with members acknowledging that occasional manicures and sporadic product use may not be enough to prevent the persistent dryness and peeling that many experience.

Pushing the cuticle back if done properly will make it easier for the excess cuticle to be seen more clearly enabling them to be clipped easier.

I use cuticles nippers as well. It's important to hydrate. You can use hand lotion, but I recommend cuticle oils that you brush on and massage in. The cuticle oils can be found in the nail polish section. :)

You can go get a manicure & get them clipped back or you can buy cuticle nippers & trim them yourself. Pushing them back doesn't help. #-Cosmetology for 20 yrs.
