So I've had tramadol only repeat prescription list for over 6 years .... Never had any issues even with its changing in clarification but this week I went to get a repeat and I've now been told it can no longer be on anyone's repeat and that everyone now has to either see a Dr for it or to speak to a duty Dr over the phone for it
So angry .. I've weaned down from 6 a day in the beginning to now just 1 a day so I'm no addict in any shape so to throw this at me both angers and confuses me

Each month I have to have my doctor order a refill because it is listed as a narcotic. I have asked for a 3 month supply and the rules say one month at a time . It helps rage the edge off the pain so I just accept how it is prescribed
Tramodol doesn't help my pain either. Can it be prescribed in different strengths?
My pain clinic killed me literally ... Didn't look at my notes gave a drug I should never have been on on a dose too high for someone my size and I literally died for almost 3 minutes.
I don't do pain clinics
Hi Melanie. Could you ask your GP to refer you to your hospital Pain Specialist clinic? Perhaps they could find a pain management that suits you, and also perhaps provide further complimentary therapy, or at least direct you to a reasonably priced service? If you have a local college, it might also be worth looking to see if they offer therapies. I went to my local college for acupuncture a few years ago. Ok, so it means having student therapists learning their craft on you, but they're supervised by fully qualified mentors and it's more affordable. Worth a look anyway. I hope you get some success and pain relief soon. Take care. Best wishes.
Stevo, I vomit all of the medications iv been given over the last 14 years up. I struggle with ibuprofen and paracetamol. Had tramadol, oramorph, low dose (diazipam) anti depressants for pain, gabapentin and other stuff. Where I go from hers is a mystery. Had some complimentary treatment which was nice, and helpful and this consisted of reflexology, gentle massage, head massage, and alot of relaxing music. I slept half way through and always woke revitalised. Doctor gave 3 months on NHS then if I needed or wanted any more have to pay and it's very expensive for these treatments on a regular basis.....
