I found using an eye mask and ear plugs very helpful. Don't ask me how but for me closing off the outside world must literally calm my nerves and relaxes me. Tea's and pills didn't work
Katy93 I'm trying to find natural ways to get sleepy. I've been listening to nature sounds one hour before bed. Rain falling/thunderstorms, birds chirping, whale and dolphin, crickets, tinkling wind chimes. I found a new favorite. The Tibetan singing bowls. You can find a mix of whatever relaxes you most on www.youtube.com. I use to watch tv until I feel asleep. I read that all the lights flashing and loud noises of tv keep your brain over stimulated. These nature sounds put you in a relaxing state of mind. I also take an epsom salt bath with a few drops of lavender and a little bubble bath. I'm on a low dose of ambien but I want to get off of it.
