Members rallied around the frustrating experience of fibro fog and memory problems, sharing a wide range of strategies they have found helpful in their own lives. Several members mentioned specific approaches including nootropics like aniracetam and noopept, supplements such as ginkgo, ginseng, and B vitamins, healthy fats like coconut oil and olive oil, brain games like Sudoku and Jeopardy, and keeping detailed notes in consistent places. A recurring theme was the impact of medications on memory, with multiple members noting that Cymbalta and Lyrica worsened their brain fog while others found relief after stopping certain medications or addressing underlying depression and anxiety through therapy.

I thought it was just me! I've been taking Cymbalta for a few months now. Didn't realise it could be that making it worse. I've had problems with my memory before taking it, but it has got worse.

What medications are you on? I was on Cymbalta and my memory was horrible. I'm off of it now and what a difference, my mind is so much clearer. I still get fibro fog but nothing like what I had when I was on Cymbalta

@A MyFibroTeam Member Do you have depression and/or anxiety issues? I have been told that depression causes memory problems. I'm working on that with therapy and it has made some improvement so far. I also do lots of brain games - Sudoku, word games, etc. These types of games/puzzles use the left side (logical thinking) part of your brain to increase neuroplasticity. I find that it improves my ability to concentrate.
