I see a lot of info on sites about making it easy, resting when you can, planning small tasks but it doesn't apply when you have to work full time. I don't have a choice but to work full time because I need the money. Being in chronic pain and trying to trial different medication is what I am struggling with most. How do people do it???? Any tips and advice please!!???

Sofia, Nursing is a very stressful job and every physically demanding! Most of the time as a new Nursing you will not get a position on days in a hospital. Do you have any Nurses on your team. I was in the medical field for 26 years including beening a Massage therapist at the sane time for a 11 years working with the elderly, handicapped and cancer patients. I had worked my way through all of the advanced training as a nursing assistant ( Patient care tech 5 ). I could do everything that an LPN could do but pass narcotics). I loved working but my body paid the price along with to sever abusive relationships. See my story.
I completely understand about having the passion to help others through the medical field. Your on your feet a lot. Remember that the flooring in most hospitals are cement underneath as usually Terraza flooring on top which is very hard on ones feet, knees and back. Not to say that also one has heavy individuals to lift and move daily sometimes by yourself because no one is available to help. Yes you can find jobs that are not in the hospital but again they are hard to find as a new grad without experience.

Don't mean to be a downer just want you to be aware of some of the things you never hear about.

Hope that this gave you food for thought, keep asking and education yourself before you spend the money on something you might not be able to do. You might what to ask a question to Nurses on here and see what they tell you. Best wishes and good luck with finding the best fit for you!
Gentle hugs!

All I can say anyone with this problem I praise them. Ok I haven't worked in over 20yrs due to other serious illnesses only been recently diagnosed the pain is immense most mornings I wake up in agony so I get up before rest of family so they don't see me in pain. I take a mixture of sevredol diazepam and paracetamol gabepentin for pain and occasionally have tried morphine patches which help short term. Also have steroid injections every six months or so for another health problem but helps with rest of pain.

I am a deputy accounts manager at a hospital pharmacy. It is mainly desk based but does require some tasks that are not desk based. 8-4 Mon to Friday

My main concern is that i am starting a nursing degree in a year and I'm not sure how I will cope or even be able to do it

@A MyFibroTeam Member, you did not state what type of work you do full time? I think would be helpful for others to know so we can answer your question better.
