Does anyone else experience night sweats and chills when sleeping? I cant figure out whats causing these night sweats and chills, its so bad I'm constantly waking up to change cloths because I'm soaked with sweat but I'm freezing at the same time. It almost feels like having the flu. It just takes everything out of me with getting even less sleep and more stress to add to the fibro pain and flare up. The weird thing is this will come and go, I'll go through periods of 3-4 weeks sometimes more… read more

Members strongly validated someone struggling with night sweats and chills that come and go in unpredictable cycles, with many sharing they experience the exact same pattern of waking up soaked yet freezing, sometimes needing to change clothes and sheets multiple times a night. Several members suggested practical causes and solutions to explore, including checking thyroid levels more thoroughly (even if results seemed borderline normal), testing for hypoglycemia or hormonal imbalances, trying magnesium supplementation (200mg with 600mg calcium), using breathable cotton fabrics instead of synthetic materials, layering lighter blankets strategically, and considering whether antidepressants might be contributing to the sweating. A recurring theme was the frustration of fibromyalgia disrupting the body's ability to regulate temperature properly, the challenge of getting doctors to take these symptoms seriously, and the comfort of knowing you're not alone or crazy when dealing with this exhausting and unpredictable symptom.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I've been told to use 200mg of magnesium + 600mg of calcium.

I have periods each night where I wake up boiling so flick the blankets off, then wake up freezing. This goes on all night every night

I have the same thing you are not
crazy! Mine come and go as well. I am now cold in stead of hot and it goes back and forth. I like my bedroom cool most of the time! 😊

Our bodies can't regulate temperature right. It's a pain. I'm always hot but in the winter I get so cold it hurts. Give the light blanket a try. Might help
