I am having intense hip pain now in both hips that sometimes is unbearable to walk. Has anyone ever had this pain and what did you do to fix these issues? I have the heating pad, cold pack, and still walk as much as possible but am losing hope as this is a pain I have never had in my life.

Thank You!

Members responded to someone struggling with unbearable hip pain by sharing that intense hip, thigh, and knee pain is a common and frustrating part of fibromyalgia, often taking a long time to heal and making daily tasks like walking, putting on shoes, or climbing stairs extremely difficult. Several members offered practical relief strategies, including Epsom salt baths, stretching the IT band with a tennis ball or foam roller, yoga for hip pain, Gabapentin for nighttime relief, and Tylenol Arthritis, while one member emphasized the importance of ruling out other conditions like lumbar stenosis that can cause similar symptoms. A recurring theme was the exhausting cycle of blaming everything on fibromyalgia when underlying issues might need separate attention, balanced with encouragement to keep moving, stretching gently, and never giving up hope.

Yes and it's primarily in my right hip. It comes and goes. When it manifests, it is very painful. Like @A MyFibroTeam Member, I find some relief from an Epsom salt bath. I found a really good liquid form of Epsom that comes with Lavender...very relaxing!

I started getting leg pain almost a year ago and my right knee especially gives me excruciating pain everyday which I've had for quite a few years but it is getting worse as time goes on. Then on came the hip pain!! Omg, I get scared when I even go to stand and now grab hold of furniture when I first get up to give me support. I've had x-rays done everywhere and apparently my hips aren't bad at all which I didn't understand cause I can barely put shoes or socks on, can't shave my legs hardly anymore and to put my leg up on the side of the tub to dry it and my foot is impossible! My rheumatologist said if there is pain but nothing shows up on an x-Ray, they look at the joint above and below which in my case both are screwed because my knee has no cartlidge left nor the bottom of my back so this is why I have so much hip pain! Apparently I may need surgery on both, just what I need!!! Of course the throbbing carries on down my thigh to my bum knee then down my shin to my ankles and feet. It is a terrible cycle again!! Like everyone says, some days you just want to give up! Love the life of Fibro!!!!

Do you stretch daily? Look up iliotibial band (i.t. band) stretches. Its the muscle on the outside of the upper leg from pelvic bone to knee. Often it gets tight and can contribute to hip and knee pain.
