Do you plan ahead with things like day trips or visiting friends ect ect.? Or do you take each day as it comes to how you're feeling.? I have to take each day as it comes...

Members shared how fibromyalgia forces them to balance planning ahead with accepting daily uncertainty, with most saying they take life one day at a time while warning friends and family that plans may need to change based on how their body feels. Several members described protective strategies like resting before and after scheduled events, asking loved ones to check in the same day rather than weeks ahead, packing pain management tools for outings, and building flexibility into plans so they can adjust timing or cancel without guilt. A recurring theme was learning to set realistic expectations, communicate boundaries clearly by saying 'I'll see how I feel,' and giving yourself grace when your body cannot cooperate with even the best-laid plans.

I take each day as it comes and my friends are getting really good at asking me about meeting up the same day or the night before which helps immensely. If I have something coming up like a day at market I try to pace myself before and give myself time to catch up afterwards.

I plan ahead on a flexible basis. Research things I'd like to do and pencil them in. Anything that happens at a specific time, I try my best to make it. My other activities are all pending...so I can do them on good days, and rest on bad days. Prepare the day before, pack a backpack of things I might need.
