My do doctor put me on Cymbalta today. I've heard really good things about it. I'm also hoping that coming off the gabapentin I'll lose some of the 50 pounds I put on. He wants me to slowly cut out gabapentin.
I've read that Cymbalta can help with your mood energy levels etc.
What is anyone's Feed back on this?

Members shared mixed experiences with Cymbalta for fibromyalgia, with many reporting that it helped with pain, mood stability, and depression, though several members experienced side effects like headaches, sweating, dry mouth, and difficult withdrawal symptoms. Many community members described significant weight loss after switching from gabapentin to Cymbalta, with some losing 23 to 45 pounds, while others emphasized that gabapentin and Lyrica were the primary culprits behind their weight gain of up to 50 pounds. A recurring theme was the importance of understanding medication side effects before starting, working closely with doctors to find the right combination and dosage, and recognizing that each person responds differently to fibromyalgia treatments.

I'm doing well on cymbalta. With the switch from gabapentin to cymbalta, going gluten and sugar free, I have lost over 35 lbs. Plus, it definitely helps with the mood and the pain. On gabapentin, my average pain was a 5 and now it's a 2. Good luck! It does take a while to kick in though.

Cymbalta does help with depression etc. I have been on it for years now and I find it's the only one I can take without side effects. I haven't gained any weight actually lost weight.

I went off Lyrica because of water weight. I ended up being rushed to the hospital bc water was going in my lungs. I was given an injection and lost 40 lbs of water, stayed for a week on the heart ward. Now I take a water pill to keep water weight down. I was put on Cymbalta and not reqreted it except I can't take the generic Cymbalta. Its good for depression, moods, and Fibromyalgia symptoms as well. Its been 6 yrs on Cymbalta. Good luck @A MyFibroTeam Member
