i respectively disagree with JayneA. Yes, opiods can be addictive. Many people call Oxycodone a gateway drug. Most of the overdoses and deaths can be attributed to heroin because people couldn't get the pain pills any more and turned to heroin. Everything I've read from reputable sources have agreed that there is a huge differnce between being addicted and dependant. I am dependant on Oxycodone because its really the only thing that helps me feel human. There are as many questions not answered about medicinal marajuana as there are misunderstandings about opiods. If you have a doctor that has checks and balances in place to monitor you closely and educate you well, and, as l long as you take the pills as prescribed, I would have a hard time telling you to get all caught up in the opiod crises panic. I would say, give them a try. They really help me. That is the reason I've been so careful to listen to both sides of the "war on opiod addiction" debate and read all I can from both sides. Good luck making the decision. The opinions and debates are out there and it's a discouraging time of life to be in pain.

Oxy is highly addictive. You would be much better off trying cannabis

I take extended release oxy, Have been taking it for awhile now . It helps.Always take 1 when i wake up. Then depending on the day i may take 2. Helps alot. I go to a pain clinic.

I also go to a pain Mgt. Doctor. He does not recommend opioids for Fibro.

I use OxyContin ER plus Percocet. I take these for my back but I get relief for my Fibro.
