Members discussed the challenges of working in information technology with fibromyalgia, with one member noting the smaller pool of IT professionals with fibro may be due to the field being male-dominated while fibromyalgia affects more women statistically. Several members working in various IT roles shared practical coping strategies including pacing throughout the day, limiting time standing or climbing ladders, flexible scheduling around documentation tasks, working with understanding coworkers, and considering team-based roles over solo positions to reduce physical demands. A recurring theme was the importance of recognizing personal limits and pivoting toward less physically demanding specializations like IT project management or auditing when infrastructure work becomes unsustainable.

Yep agreed. That's what I'll be looking for. The good thing is that I have come to realize this. I have much better idea of what I need to look for. But I am still going to take a little break to do some studying. I want to get a small cert. I'm hoping to go towards service delivery or IT auditing. Basically use what I have to approach IT from a different angle.
Your really helped Sherri first time I'm getting to talk to someone in the IT field with Fibromyalgia.

It sounds like you really do need a new job, on a bigger team

Check out this video, it has changed my life. I take his Energy Revitalization and D-ribose and it helps so much. I haven't had a major flare since I started it. I also take Baclofen (a mild muscle relaxer) when my muscles act up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuIRDzUDO3o

Luckily for me I work with a bunch of young Marines who do the heavy lifting.

Also o don't really focus on one area. I kind of do it all. So that kinda helps with the pressure.
