I get the flu shot every year. I worked in public health and can tell you if you get it you may want to die. Also if you have young grandchildren if you get the flu you may pass it on to them or other family members. Same with the elderly if you give it to them it may put them in the hospital or death. This also goes for infants/children. A lot of illnesses are harder on the young and the old. So you are not just getting the flu shot for yourself but for those around you that you love. Good Luck and I hope you get one. And flu shots do not cause fibro. If you have been exposed to the flu before the shot 'took hold' you might get it and if you do get the flu after you have the shot it will be a less severe case. The flu shot covers several types of flu but often one type crops up and makes the rounds and the shot doesn't protect you from that type. It is all guesswork and the CDC does it's best to figure out what flu is coming our way.

Flu shots don't cause fibro. I didn't get flu shots for years because they made me sick. At my doctor's insistence I now get them (they have improved them, they no longer make me sick) I now get the flu shot every year and I get sick a lot less. No ill effects usually.

Absolutely not, my doctor said I had to have flu shots after being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, after four years I have never had a cold

I not only get the flu shot, but also the pneumonia shot, and have been for years! I haven't had a severe case of either since I have been getting them. It is important to get them because fibromyalgia is an autoimmune condition and we are weakened by it, getting the shots helps us fight off the flu and pneumonia so if still unsure, talk to your doctor about it!!!!!!
