Members shared experiences with chronic hives and severe itching, often connected to fibromyalgia, with many identifying specific triggers including certain medications, foods like pineapple and tomatoes, metal contact, and stress. Several members found relief through the combination of Zyrtec and Zantac taken daily for several days after outbreaks, while others mentioned Benadryl, Gold Bond medicated lotion, and switching to gentle products like Dove body wash and CeraVe lotion. A recurring theme was the frustration of unrelenting itching that interferes with daily life and work, alongside the challenge of identifying root causes when standard treatments like Benadryl provide little relief.

@ Jayep My mom gets hives and I recently looked at some areas and told her that she has a bit of eczema, also. She was not happy to hear that was it. She said her dad had eczema then, also. I know that if I do not take my Neurontin in the evening I feel my nerves start up. If I eat pineapple, oranges, lemons, limes even as a tiny bit in dressings...I start itching behind my knees and elbows. Tomatoes cause the Eczema to break out everywhere at once. I used to could have tomatoes all the time. Turmeric really gets me, also. It is used in those seasoning salts for fries, meat, etc. Good luck.

I get it from Neosporin. I am allergic to NSIDs, benadryl, pineapple, muscle relaxants. Basically I stick to Tylenol. Has anyone noticed with Fibromyalgia the foods that we liked before we can't stand to eat now.

Yes, I also have eczema. Sometimes I ask my drs if this is the melting pot for all these symptoms. It is frustrating, and you ask why me? Like I tell my family and friends, why not me? I am stubborn, pig headed, and like things to run smoothly. That does not fit the fibro mindset!! Well it's not easy, in fact sometimes it is harder than anything. But I get through it. One day at a time. Just keep smiling!☺

@ jayep I have eczema and understand about the itching. I would get that sometimes years back. I switched to Dove body washes and made sure to wear looser cottons example sweatpants and jeans. It is the best until you heal up. I would also get a good lotion...Cerave has helped in the past few years. It is not greasy.

I have had hives off and on for many years--hives on my back, belly and hands. I was so mad when a physician's assistant told me this instead of giving me a shot but it really works for me--- Take Zyrtec and Zantac daily. I take for several days after the hives are not showing on my skin. Try it--it works for me!
