Members shared a wide range of strategies for managing fibro fog, with several finding relief through medications like Vyvanse, Ritalin, Lexapro, and Namenda, though many noted these were prescribed for other conditions and results varied by individual. Practical tips included keeping notebooks and phone reminders, using Post-it notes, eliminating gluten and identifying food sensitivities, prioritizing rest and regular meals, pacing activities to reduce stress, and maintaining a sense of humor when memory lapses occur. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of forgetting words mid-conversation, losing track of belongings, and feeling isolated or misunderstood, with members emphasizing the importance of self-compassion, communicating needs to loved ones, and finding supportive communities who truly understand the daily challenges.

i find when i have fibro fog i get very confused when i talk, and if i don't need to get out what i have to say immediately i lose the thought. So at least with my family i put my hand up and everyone knew to immediately stop talking. Sometimes we need to tell people what you need.

This might not be a popular answer, but since I have taken myself off of all my fibro drugs my fibro fog is completely gone. The reason why I weened myself off of everything is because they were all working for a short period of time and then they stopped. So why take drugs if they don't work right? The fog was really bad at times. I forgot things daily but the worst was when I was trying to talk to someone and I couldn't say words. It was horrible. My husband would help me out if he saw it was happening in a social situation. He would just come up and say something like, ready to go? He was just trying to help me get out of a situation when I couldn't find my words.
I'm not recommending anyone get off their drugs. This is just my experience of how I got rid of the fog. Hope you have a great day!
