I have this same trouble. I bought something called Dibetaid. Its a lotion and you can find it in most pharmacies for about $6. Its actually meant for people with Diabetes and Nueopathy, but it stops the itching and kind of numbs the area for a while, so you can rest. Hope this helps.
I have that quite often. My doctor prescribes Atarax for the itching. Hope this helps you and that youre having a low pain day. Hugs and prayers. Connie
I can tell you what I use but remember what works for me may not work for you. I mix a 1oz tube of hydrocortisone cr 1% and 1oz tube of benadryl cr together and put in a clean container. I have sjorgrens and my skin is very sensitive. skin and terrible itching after a shower. I cant use anything with a fragrance to it. eucerin calming cr or lotion works for me too.
In the antihistamines field the atarax or apo-hydroxyzine is one of the most effective to calm that. If you don't have open wound the sunscreen spray is really effective. In really itchy zone neutral hand cream. If you have a really reactive skin over here we got a derma wich is a emollient balm. To help with not taking out the skin 4 to 5 layer of nail polish take out a bit of the nail ability to scratch. Fake nail when filed nicely so that too.
My whole body is full of sores especially my scalp , arms, legs and upper back /shoulders. I' find myself scratching when I'm half asleep. Now I scratch to try to distract myself from the pain I'm feeling from fm.
