Members responding to a question about nausea with fibromyalgia shared that many experience it unpredictably, ranging from a few hours to weeks at a time, often accompanied by food aversions and sensitivity to smells. Several members offered practical strategies that have helped them, including promethazine for chronic nausea, antihistamine-based travel sickness tablets, peppermint tea or candy, warm ginger ale, and acupressure points on the inner forearm. A recurring theme was the personal trial-and-error nature of managing nausea, with some members finding relief by eating specific comfort foods like cereal, fruit, or crisps, while others noted unexpected symptoms like loss of smell that members hadn't previously connected to fibromyalgia.

Yes I do, sometimes for weeks I feel nauseated, other times just a few hours. But when I'm like that I can eat certain foods. It's like I crave them, mine is cereal and fruit, then depending on how long it last a bag of ready salted hula hoops. It's awful as it can strike at any time. Even when I think I'm fine like today the thought of gravy on a roast dinner was a big no no, or the smell of foods cooking. Much preferred it when I lost my sense of smell for good, but that now comes and goes too. Sending hugs, my GP did give me some tablets for it, they are used for travel sickness too, and a few other things there an antihistamine x
