Members connected over the frustrating reality that pain from fibromyalgia often persists whether resting or active, with many describing constant discomfort in hands, arms, shoulders, and back that makes even sleep difficult. Several members shared that gentle movement like slow walking, stretching, yoga, or simply getting up to move around the house provides more relief than lying down, which can make stiffness and pain feel worse. A recurring theme was the importance of distraction and staying mentally engaged to shift focus away from the pain, as well as finding a personal balance between necessary rest and light activity.

That makes sense when I'm working I'm not thinking about the pain even though it hurts. But laying in bed all I think about is how much pain I'm in

I find when the pain decides to it hard, it really doesn't matter much. I can hurt while just laying in bed or I get a bad flare up if I do something like hang curtains or pictures. Simple tasks but I guess that's all it takes. I have found no rhyme or reason for the pain. But yes, I find if I am hurting while laying in bed, I get up and walk around my apartment and stretch. It helps 'a little'.

I need to keep a journal of my days. I don't and maybe that's why I don't know what causes my triggers

Yes. If I sit too long I hurt more. Being up & moving helps with pain but I can only do that so long!
