I sometimes get a dull shooting pain but that's usually the sign of a migraine coming ( which thank God isn't too often ) . The numbness concerns me though , ( not saying this is what's going on ) we women show signs of strokes differently than men and I've read "numbness" shouldn't be ignored ! Brenda

Sometimes if feels like someone is pulling my hair out. Usually in the same area of my head.

I had the facial/head and arm numbness. And nerve pain, not really shooting pain. Someone also told me it might be a migraine. I started taking a migraine medication for it but then the medication gave me vertigo so I had to stop taking it.

I started with shooting pains and numbness in my face 10 years, was diagnosed with Chronic migraine and Allodynia which is a hypersensitivity disorder mine of which is triggered by change in humidity! The numbness is part of the migraine spectrum and which my doctor explains is like a mini aura minus the flashing lights and visual disturbances! These symptoms I get prior to a migraine attack and on their own, see a neurologist about this 1-2 times a year! Hope this helps x

I've been getting sharp, shooting pain in my head for 35 years. No numbness, though. I agree that it should be checked out. Prayers and hugs!!
