Does anybody else ever sleep for as long as 24 hours or more at a time only getting up to go to the rest room?

Members strongly validated someone's experience of sleeping 24 hours straight, with many sharing that they do the same and explaining that fibromyalgia prevents the body from getting the deep, restorative rest it needs, making extended sleep periods a necessary part of managing the condition. Several members described sleeping anywhere from 12 to 48 hours when they've overdone it or experienced high stress, with some waking up sensitive to light, needing time to ease back into eating, and feeling guilt about the impact on family or daily responsibilities. A recurring theme was the relief of knowing they're not alone in this exhausting cycle, the frustration of being misunderstood by loved ones who call them lazy, and the reality that sometimes the body simply demands rest no matter how hard they try to resist it.

When I over do it, or when I work outside in the heat, I have found I could crash around 3-4 PM and sleep straight through to 10 AM the next day. I refuse to do this often because it just makes me worse. Eventually I find I can't refuse and just give in.

When I can I'll just sleep n sleep. Our bodies don't get the rest we need. So it's not unusual
