Members rallied around someone struggling with extreme fatigue and back pain after just four hours of activity, sharing the common experience of needing 10 to 15 hours of sleep to recover from what others would consider a normal day. Several members emphasized the importance of listening to your body without guilt, resting as much as needed, and accepting that profound fatigue is often part of living with fibromyalgia, with some noting they experience more of the fatigue side while others deal primarily with pain. A recurring theme was learning self-compassion and letting go of the habit of beating yourself up for having symptoms you cannot control.

It seems like we either have more of the pain side of fibromyalgia, or more of the chronic fatigue side of fibromyalgia.

Sleep if you need it. I mostly sleep 10 hours a night, sometimes 8 plus a nap in the afternoon. Do what you need to do.
