I feel like I'm on a boat all the time when sitting down, rocking/swaying side to side. It's driving me mad especially as the computer doesn't move with me, making it difficult to read or type things

Members connected over the disorienting experience of constant rocking and swaying sensations, with many describing feeling like they're on a boat, walking into door frames, or appearing unsteady in public. Several members identified potential causes including vertigo, gabapentin side effects, fibromyalgia, and arthritis, while sharing coping strategies such as using a cane for stability, taking antihistamines, and even embracing the rocking motion as a form of self-soothing for pain relief. A recurring theme was the frustration of managing yet another unpredictable symptom, the fear of looking unsteady or being judged, and the relief of knowing others share the same experience.

I rock from the pain...ive rock back and forth for years now. Im self conscience about it and try not to do it in public. I look like a mental patient! Oh wait! I am a mental patient!!

Yeah. I have had that happen but only when I'm standing or walking. It's kinda scary , too. If there's nothing or no one there to grab onto, I'm down. And I mean DOWN!

@A MyFibroTeam Member What you're describing sounds like vertigo. I get it every now and then and had it loads at the beginning of my diagnosis. My body seems to have adjusted and I don't tap anything for it. I just kind of go with it when it comes. Antihistamines sometimes work to ease symptoms. Have u spoken to your GP? Xxx
