Members shared mixed experiences with acupuncture for fibromyalgia, with some finding temporary relief from pain and muscle spasms while others felt no benefit or even increased soreness afterward. Several members emphasized that acupuncture requires multiple sessions to determine effectiveness, with recommendations ranging from 3 to 6 treatments, and noted the importance of finding an experienced practitioner trained in Chinese medicine, though the cost of $200 or more per session was a barrier for some. A recurring theme was that fibromyalgia affects everyone differently, so what works for one person may not work for another, with many encouraging the original poster to try it themselves while managing expectations and exploring other options like massage therapy, TENS units, or cupping if acupuncture doesn't provide relief.

I had it and it didn't work for me. I think you have to have a person who has been doing it for a long time, someone who knows about Chinese medicine, because the needle has to be right on the spot, I hope this helps. .

I tried it. Helped with the muscle spasms for a few days after a treatment. Nothing for the rest of the fibro symptoms. I gave up after about 6 treatments since it costs over $200 a pop here.

Y, I have a TENS, I often forget to use it or think about it when I'm wearing pants

Maybe you'd be one of the lucky few? I haven't tried it either. I'm really looking for someone who does massage in my area, I also purchased a TENS machine which I LOVE!!
