2 part question

Last night I woke up and I swear I had vomit in my mouth that was burning my throat. I choaked and of course ended up swallowing it. But at the same time I urinated on myself. Today I had a horrible flair. I find normally when I'm in a flair I wet myself in my sleep does anyone else experience this? I've been to the doctor and they say there is nothing wrong with my bladder and no its not MS. And does anyone else have acid reflux at night? What do you do about it?

I'm sorry but Kegals don't work for incontinence. I have done them for years and I means years. Pretty much ever since they made so many people laugh when they talked about them on Friends. I even found it amusing to try to cut my tinkle off midstream while on the potty. And I was strong enough to cut it off mid stream on the potty at the time my incontinence started. There is something about doing the peepee dance that makes those exercises useless. I told my doctor that. My PCP is a hoot so he asked me how you do the peepee dance. I told him your right leg becomes your left and your left becomes your right and you do the wiggle shuffle wiggle to the bathroom. He wanted me to demonstrate, but I wasn't falling for that.
He only gave me a 1 month supply of the incontinence meds. I'm going to take them all and then give it about a week or so to see if it returns or not. I'm hoping it won't. But if it does I just have to call him to get him to call in another prescription.

So sorry your sick. I too have GERD and take protonix daily for this . It keeps it under control. Omeprazole is same thing which some have mentioned. Both work well in my experience . I also have occasional urination accidents and when I have to go I better get up and go or else. Hope this helps.

I have heartburn and the vomit experience you had is GERD - Gastroesophageal reflux disease. It basically is stomach acid, that is why it burns and you typically choke on it. Like above I take Omeprazole (the store brand of Prilosec) for mine too. I only have to take it about every other day. I have a lot of foods that cause mine though. It's not just greasy or spicy foods. Peanut butter and bananas are 2 of my biggest culprits and I ain't giving up either one.
And can I just say stupid doctor!!!! One of the possible symptoms of fibro is either irritable bladder syndrome (same as IBS, but with the bladder) and incontinence. I have incontinence, the IBS (bladder) will usually present with bladder spasms, it is sometimes called urge incontinence because when the bladder spasms is causes a sudden urge to pee and there ain't no stopping it. I don't have the sudden urge, I have issues with coughing and I tinkle, sneeze, I tinkle, laugh, I tinkle and so on. And at night my bladder has sort of stopped waking me until my bladder is near to overflowing and I tinkle. Sometimes I just flat out wet myself.
Neither of these is like a UTI where the dr can do a urine culture and see you have a UTI.
And there is medicine that can help you get it under control. Or you can wear a pad to bed as mentioned, get some poise undies or the new poise bladder control thing that looks like a tampon, but the poise items are a little expensive. I take Tolterodine (detrol) for mine and within about a week I had stopped all incontinence.
If you would rather try to correct it with medication I would suggest keeping a tinkle diary (tell the doctor it is a voiding diary) and take it back with you to the doctor. He will see how often you go, when you wet yourself and what caused it and what time of day it was. If you have any pelvic discomfort you may be having bladder spasms, esp if it is followed by the urge to go now. And when you give him the voiding diary, inform him incontinence is a companion problem with fibro. Like my doctor he is probably not considering incontinence because it usually comes later in life except for women who have had a hysterectomy. But as we all know fibro doesn't care how old you are. I went the medical route with mine because I have cervical cancer and just finished treatments about a month ago, I cannot use tampons or anything like them any longer and I hate pads. I am just glad the treatments sent me straight into menopause.

Good luck, hope you can get some relief from it soon.
