Yes I have had it since I was 14. I currently take 40mg Pariat a day & gaviscon advance in between when needed. Certain foods make it worse so important watch your diet
Yes I do. I take prescription Prevacid twice a day. If I run out, I have to double up the dosage of the over the counter Prevacid & that is much more expensive than my co-pay.
I gave up coffee, I only allow myself a cup of decaffienated about every 2 months. In fact, I gave up caffeine almost entirely. Once in a while I "need" a Coke lol but I buy the little 8oz cans to curb my need. I stay far away from fried foods too. I also have IBS, so there are more limitations with that too. Thing is, you Have to take this medicine every day, not just when you think you need it, for it to work well. Good luck!
I cannot tolerate milk. I do prop my head up at night though. Sometimes I can sleep better in chair with reclined feet.
Yes I have acid reflux. I've had it for several years. I take omeprazole because if you get a script from your doctor insurance pays for it. Even though you can buy it over-the-counter it's very expensive. I also will take some times as needed Tagamet or Pepcid. And I know being a nurse though say on the bottle to take one but they can't tell you to take more milligrams because it is over-the-counter. But with Pepcid you can take up to 80 mg that is the actual prescribed dose from the doctor. I use these and I by the Walmart or target brand. This works really well. A few weeks ago I was sound asleep in bed and all of a sudden head ass and spew up into the my mouth in the roof of my mouth and it cost me to have a really bad coughing spell. I sometimes will have flareups that are really bad. But usually mine is controlled by my prescription meds for my doctor.
