My 19 year old son shows no compassion, we are not that close as we clash a lot but since fibro he's been worse! I feel really hurt when he makes fun when I get confused and mix up my words😞 I'm still new to all this myself and finding it hard to cope sometimes! I break down in tears at the drop of a hat which is not me at all, I find myself shutting myself off from family when I'm struggling! Xx
I have three children, a daughter 8, another daughter 18 and a son 20. My girls both have empathy for me and help where they can but my son, although we are very close, can't seem to understand when I say I'm not well. He doesn't actually think there's anything wrong with me. It's so hard for me because I haven't actually had a diagnosis as yet but have all the symptoms of fibromyalgia and have had for a few years now and am currently waiting to see a rheumatologist. So I understand how you feel and maybe if I get that diagnosis, then maybe my son will understand a little more. Good luck xx
I would rather work my tail off as a nurse than hurt and sit home, any day. I sometimes feel like my family doesn't empathize....so trying to educate them more.
Both my children, 38 and 40, think I'm lying for sympathy.
