Educate yourself a much as possible and see what symptoms you have that matches up. I was diagnosed 7 years ago and since joining this group I have learned more here than anywhere else. small things that people mention and I read and say hey that's me too. Like my cognitive function increase as the day goes on and really kicks in late at night. There are times when I will be walking and it feels like my leg goes limp. Recognize stress triggers. I kept having sever pain in my shoulder that radiated down my arm into my hand. I actually had carpal tunnel surgery because of this pain and the surgery and this pain did no good. The pain was actually worse than before. I was at my primary doc for med refill and mentioned to her and she looked at my shoulder and said you have a huge muscle spasm in your shoulder. She gave me a muscle relaxer and sent me to physical therapy. The therapist immediately put the pieces together and solved what for 3 years I was in terrible pain for was s specific muscle in my shoulder would tighten like a not. I learned I carried the stress of my life in my shoulders.I have been having marital problems due to the fibro and the effect it has had on me both physically and mentally. The stress from that act almost like a light switch to turn on the pain. Medication and proper exercises helps me control that specific pain which was the worst pain I have ever experienced.
Bring a list of medication that you take.
I went there before I was diagnosed, they took loads of x rays, scans, blood tests, examination on body and pressure point's,
Cymbalta really helped my legs not to hurt or be able to walk especially 1st thing in the morning and afternoon sitting to long. But I did gain weight on it.
