I am currently taking a multivitamin but I have been wondering should I add to that or is it enough?
Suggestions?

Members shared diverse approaches to supplementing beyond a multivitamin, with many emphasizing the importance of consulting a doctor or dietitian first to identify individual deficiencies through blood work rather than taking supplements blindly. Several members described their personal regimens, including vitamin D and B12 for common deficiencies, fish oil and turmeric for inflammation, magnesium for fibromyalgia symptoms, and probiotics for digestive health, with some noting modest improvements in pain levels and energy. A recurring theme was that while supplements can be helpful when tailored to specific needs, a good multivitamin combined with a healthy diet is often sufficient, and the original poster ultimately confirmed with her doctor that her bloodwork was good and her current multivitamin was enough.

if someone on here tells you to take something and isn't medically trained you could be taking too much or taking something that could harm you, not that people on here would intentionally try to hurt you. vitamins are a big deal as there are side affects if you are taking too much of something or not enough at all, i am low in vitamin D and that has affected me quite a lot and adds to my pain, if you really need this information, i suggest you speak to a doctor or dietitian. each person is different, which means each person has different needs, a lot of people take things they think they need but dont and can harm the body in the long run, if you go to your doctor they will give you a blood test and tell you what you need, you dont want to be putting things in your body that it dose not need.

I'm sorry ladies. That post was supposed to go on a different post/conversation lol. Every time I check in there are abt 20 notifications. On a post, A lady was sayn she found Ativan helpful and would mail Ativan to this other person in the UK to try. She might not have been aware of the US law 're mailing rx drugs so I wanted to make her aware before she did it. Ugh. Now I don't know if she will see the post! I don't remember her name, but I could have sworn it was on this post. But, anyway, it's out there now... so anybody can read it and be mindful of it. \(^o^)/ see this is another example of sleep deprivation and brain fog. Again, sorry for the mix up.

I went to a dietitian and she recommended taking fish oil and turmeric to help with inflammation. I also take ginko boloba for cognitive reasoning. Helps me concentrate. I wouldn't say they made a massive difference but since taking the supplements my pain is a better. Instead of every day being filled with pain I have a few less painful and even a few pain free days. Those are rear but they didn't exist before I started taking the supplements.

As long as you eat well you only need to take one multi vit a day. Prayers and soft hugs.

I am. RN and have worked for 28 years wil adults and internal medicine and cardiac care. Any knowledgable PCP is going to instruct any woman of child bearing age and older, and even more important at age 50 and over to be on a good multivitamin and calcium and vit D. These help to prevent osteopenia and osteoporosis especially in woman 50 and over and or going through menopause. But always verify with your MD. I never suggest anything I wouldn't do myself with knowledge.
