Should I ask my doctor if I can see a pain specialist?

Yes! I have worked within the pain clinic for years. Thank heavens I have such a great team! They have pulled me from the abyss more than once. You know when you hurt so bad you really just want someone to shoot you? Too much in pain to act yourself besides I would not do that just saying I wished someone would put me out of my misery. When I reflect on this I am truly grateful to them.

Definitely yes because in the United States now doctors primary cares are going to quit prescribing narcotics in the same already been doing it in the past and it's pain is a specialty in itself and now they want it to be regulated by pain specialist because of all the drug addiction.

I have pain management and I have been going for a year, the one dr I have been seeing is wonderful. She no longer works there and I'm seeing another dr and he makes me feel like I'm just there for drugs. Make sure they don't make u feel like ur doing something wrong when ur trying to better ur life not make others happy. The dr doesn't walk in ur shoes. My pain management also refers me to physical therapy and others dr to help with other aliments.

Yes ,I see a pain management for trigger point injections , which has helped even though it last for 2 weeks for me , for others maybe longer , but it's worth it ,
