Does Anybody Suffer From Lupus As Well As Fiibro?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have seen that fibro and lupus can go hand in hand. I have been reading up on Lupus and I matching almost every symptom. I have talked to my doctor in the past and he does not want to look in to this, just wants to work on fibro, which is fine, but I feel there is more going on. Does anybody else have Lupus? How did you go about getting tested, etc?

I was tested for lupus twice. One neg and one positive. My doctor said he doesn't think I have lupus. If you can go to a specialist and get to the root of the problem. Read up on Vit D deficiency. Dame symptoms. My sister just had surgery for hyperparathyroidism. Her doctor told her to have her siblings and children tested because it is hereditary. My doctor wouldn't do it. 20 minute surgery and she is cured. I have all the symptoms.
I got a new chiropractor. Believe it or not he is the only person helping me get to the root of the problem. Don't give up. I think alot of us have a chance for a normal pain free life if we can just find the right doctor

I have lupus, fibromyalgia and sjogrens syndrome ( lucky me! 🙄) It took me 7 years to be diagnosed with lupus, which is pretty much the norm. It's very difficult to diagnose because it mimicks so many other diseases. I agree with Andrea, you need to have everything checked and ruled out. It is a long process and it sucks, but it will be worth it just to have verification. Try to get a referrel to a good Rheumatologist and go from there. Sorry to be so lengthy, but I definitely know the struggle. You hang in there hun and let us know how everything goes!

Wow. I think with this new "Obama care" we are paying for unnecessary tests to cover expenses for nation wide healthcare. But what it is doing, is reducing the quality care we are getting. Took me over three years to get a diagnosis of Fibro.

Hey ! Try to get a new doctor. One that will support you. I had a wonderful doctor that believed in me. But I lost my insurance. Obama care is not the answer for a my house. But that's besides the point. Id definitely search for a new doc. It took me about 3 doctors to listen to me.
