Bruising

Does anyone find unexplained bruising on their bodies? I woke up with a huge bruise all along the base of my back that looks like someone has given me a real good kicking!! I've not fallen or bumped into anything so I'm a little concerned!

Members shared widespread experiences of unexplained bruising with fibromyalgia, describing bruises that appear overnight without any memory of injury, often in clusters or unusual places like the back, legs, arms, and neck. Several members offered practical insights, including that medications like Gabapentin and steroids can contribute to bruising by affecting blood cells, that fibromyalgia makes skin and nerve endings more sensitive to touch, and that arnica cream can help bruises heal faster. A recurring theme was the importance of checking with a doctor about large or unusual bruises to rule out medication side effects or other concerns, while also recognizing that mystery bruises are a common and frustrating part of living with fibromyalgia.

I was having unexplained bruising wayyy before i got on gabapetin but who knows.. I have learned that all the little bumps and bruises that we end up with due to the this stupid disease is just part of dealing with it and if it isnt really serious looking..I dont really worry about .. there are more important and more fun things to worry about.. like our loved ones.. .*hugs to everyone who needs one today*

Bruises appear but I can never remember how or when I got them. It's only from this site that I know half of what I know about fibro. A lot makes sense now. Hope this helps

Bruising does appear from time to time for no apparent reason but something like you had on your back should warrant an expert to look at it, the doctor or someone at the hospital. It is probably 'just' fibromyalgia but please get it checked. Gentle hugs xx

I've had small bruises but nothing a big of yours . I think it best to get it checked by GP ,it could be a iron deficiency
