Members shared their struggles and strategies for losing weight while managing chronic illness, with many expressing frustration over limited mobility and medication side effects that complicate weight loss efforts. Several members described approaches that have worked for them, including eliminating sugar and processed foods, incorporating daily fruit and vegetable smoothies, trying programs like Weight Watchers or Body by VI shakes, exploring the Mediterranean diet, and in one case undergoing gastric bypass surgery. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of weight gain, the challenge of finding sustainable solutions when exercise is difficult or impossible, and the community's compassionate reminder that self-worth extends beyond the number on a scale.

I have lost 20 pounds by not eating sugar, eating a fresh smoothie every morning with spinach and fruits, and snacking on nuts and fruits.

So frustrating I have put on loads of weight but just come off my meds ( doctor approved) I will see if that makes any difference - I can't afford to keep buying bigger clothes

I've tried lots of diets. Weight watchers worked for a while. I do know how you feel. Best of luck. Hugs
