I had to leave my job a few months ago because of the stress level along with my symptoms.. I was also going off Cymbalta and it made me sick to the point of having to leave. Now, three months later, I'm back at work but in a much less stressful environment. It makes all the difference
I was fired last month for my absences from my job I was at for three years. Now I ha e no disability and can't find any job that will accept my disability. I'm unable to pay rent or my bills and have no health insurance now. I feel so stuck and need help figuring out what to do as all the paperwork is too difficult to complete on my own.
If you live in the US it is illegal for a company to fire you under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Go to your Human Resources Dept and tell them you are disabled. They should let you know what to bring them to prove it.
I wouldn,t say it cost me my job but I got out before I was pushed.. I was a theatre nurse in Manchester and found I couldn,t keep up with the daily demands and so I went to occ health who were very helpful and stood by me during a 6 month process of getting early retirement at 61.I also made a word doc of how the condition affects my daily life. as for the boss who replaced you- he needs to be seen by an industrial tribunal and made aware of employment law.
I lost mine. I worked for 5 years, then had to take off 3 months for cancer treatments. Was told not to worry about my job, but when I was ready to come back my boss told me sorry I hired someone else. Talk about being kicked while you are down.
