Has anyone had a flare up due to eating fast food? I was feeling ok and then had McDonald's and a few hours later had really bad pain and increased nerve disturbances. This was two days ago and I'm still having a hard time. I usually eat pretty clean so I'm wondering if the introduction of preservatives and chemicals in the fast food caused this flare. Thanks for your input.

I think that fast foods and processed foods are a big part of our pain. If you do want to indulge, Subway is a very good place to go as all of their veggies are fresh and the chicken is not processed. Nor is the roast beef.
I stopped buying processed a few years ago and have found that it even helps with IBSd. It won't take everything out, but it helps to know. Fast and fried foods are not good for fibro.

Peace, love and gentle hugs,

Catherine

@A MyFibroTeam Member β˜€οΈ My Fibro got so bad I was in a 'constant flare' πŸ˜† I completely changed my eating habits. FIRST thing I cut out was fast food. It would make me worse than I thought it could be. No processed foods. Fresh Vegas, fruit, & as much organic as possible. In 3 months my pain was at an all time low, etc. Fatigue got a little better. Plus I had no desire for fast food. We all find ourselves in situations where we have to 'drive thru'. πŸ™„ That, girlfriend is my 2 cents worth. Love, Linda

Yes, the salt , fat and carbs will make you feel yuck.
Not to mention McDonald's food has whatever chemicals in their products.

It's true. I felt so badly after eating fast food, that I started to think I was diabetic! All I could do was lie down and wait to feel better. When I prepare my own food, I don't have that issue. So, yes. Fast food is the devil to some with fibromyalgia.

I also can't really digest McDonald's food and wonder about preservatives and the fat content of their food.If I eat too much fat I feel so bloated and nauseated.I do occasionally eat the fish sandwich without the tartar sauce.I never had a flare of pain or nerve disturbance however.
