Members responded to the question about whether anyone has overcome fibromyalgia by sharing that while there is no known cure, some people do experience periods of remission or find ways to manage their symptoms. Several members shared strategies that have helped them cope, including dietary changes, staying active, leaning on faith, building strong support systems, and staying informed through fibromyalgia organizations. A recurring theme was holding onto hope despite the challenges, with many members emphasizing a positive outlook and taking life one day at a time.

Don't know of anyone who has defeated fibro but know of a few who have gotten it under control and are living relatively normal lives. A lot of it depends on what triggers it to start with and how bad you have it. My sister also has fibro but to a much lesser degree then I do so lives a pretty normal life.

I know it's not the answer you want to hear. It's not the answer I want to hear. But, that's the reality of this disease/syndrome. I still can't fully accept this as my fate and I struggle daily with my limitations. I don't seem to have many good days anymore but I'll never give up hope that one day I will be better than I am now. I'll always seek new treatments, continue educating myself and surround myself with the most positive influences I can. I acknowledge and appreciate every wonderful moment that my pain is not in the forefront of my mind because it doesn't happen often. Some days you can co-exist with the pain. Some days you break down and cry your eyes out. Some days you pray for time to move faster because each moment is barely tolerable. But no matter how those days go, the consistent inconsistency (haha!) of my symptoms always breathes hope into a better tomorrow.

Gentle hug too. The only thing I found is family to get the best side of every bad days and medecines to decrease it. Good luck

Fibromyalgia is a lifelong disease/disorder, with no cure, that tends to worsen with age or body/mind trauma (like a surgey, car accident, passing of loved one, etc) I hate saying out loud that it will never go away. It's daunting and has taken me many years to start accepting this fact.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I sure wish I knew someone with the magic wand. I'd be wearing that thing out curing everyone. Remember to keep your eyes on God and let him guide you through this trial.
