Members shared their experiences managing thyroid conditions alongside fibromyalgia, with nearly all taking daily medication like Levothyroxine, Synthroid, or Eltroxin to treat hypothyroidism. Several members emphasized the importance of regular blood testing, checking both T3 and T4 levels, and working with an endocrinologist, noting that untreated thyroid issues can cause serious health problems including fatigue and hair loss. A recurring theme was the challenge of managing multiple overlapping conditions, with many members describing how thyroid problems commonly co-occur with fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and other autoimmune issues.

Yes, I am also hypothyroid. It causes fatigue, hair loss and a whole gambit of health problems if not diagnosed and treated properly. I started out taking Armour Thyroid, but after taking it for years my system started acting weird on it so now I am on Unithroid. I cannot take Levothyroxine or Synthroid as they are synthetic thyroid and my system would not process them. Make sure you have your T4 checked also, not just the T3.

If you have a thyroid problem medicine is essential!! You can die from not having the right amount in your system. I would check into that immediately. Very important.

Thanks Dianne that is very helpful. I found a book on fibromyalgia and it talks about the T4 and T3. Although I really don't know what either of those are.
