Members shared mixed experiences with alternative therapies for fibromyalgia, with several cautioning against Mickel Therapy due to its high cost and claims of a cure that raised red flags. Many community members described finding relief through massage, particularly Swedish or gentler techniques, while noting that deep tissue massage can sometimes trigger flare-ups despite helping some people. A recurring theme was the importance of skepticism when evaluating therapies that promise cures, balanced with the understanding that different approaches work for different people.

I checked out their website and I am not familiar with it. I am cautious when I see the word "cure." I have heard of Bowen Therapy and I have gone for deep tissue Massage like @A MyFibroTeam Member it hurts when you get the massage, but you feel some better afterwards.

I tried Bowen Therapy but found that it wasn't too effective for fibro. It was relaxing while the procedure was being done - but it was/is expensive. I found that deep tissue massage therapy is better. It hurts at the time it's done (and I have a very high pain tolerance) but for at least a week afterward, I had no pain - none whatsoever.

There are other massage therapies that are recommended for Fibro. I'm not saying tha deep tissue doesn't provide relief for some, but it can induce a flare-up and make a mild one worse. I had a massage last summer that was quite gentle but with some pressure. The next day i was pain free. I'll look up what it was and get back to you. As I said, I had cranio-sacral therapy once. The therapist was extremely gifted and it was very good for inducing sleep.

Agape,
I'm with you. With Fibromyalgia becoming so more well-known I think if there was, a real cure it would be, all over the media. But I do believe there are things that can help you into remission.

Thankyou for your feedback, I really appreciate it..I think it must be just in england then,&maybe have different names in other countries..I have only just heard of it Iam so glad we have this site to be able to ask others that are suffering in same way..I appreciate honesty. With saying it was free info session meetimg thing I thought o, I may go, then when I had a look it say, I think £70 a session thereafter for treatment..Alarm bells did ring slightly.I think I will go wth the knowledgable, people that has answerd&are in the same boat, as iam sure if amy of us knew of a treatmemt we would all be on it..what I was thinking was it may of been an alternative therapy thing..I guess we all have to be vigilant, when we are suffering to people preying on us.on internet it showed a ex doctor speaking, mickel guy, then a woman explaining thing frm autralia, writing things on a board who claims it had worked for her..maybe it has who knows? They said it was a talking based thing..I have had cbt in the past&that didnt work for me. So I guess I will go to my pain clinic appointment today at the hos&see what that brings me..Much love to all&hugs.♡♡♡♡♡♡.P.S.Iam not going to the free disscussion thing.LoL.
