Hi All!

Has anyone had nerve block injections in their trigger points? I had this procedure yesterday, and am experiencing increased pain and soreness. Has anyone experienced this, and if so, did it dissipate?

Members shared mixed experiences with nerve block injections for trigger points, with many describing increased pain and soreness immediately following the procedure that typically lasted a few days before returning to baseline pain levels. Several members noted that while some experienced temporary relief lasting a few weeks, others found no benefit even after multiple attempts, with one member trying injections eight times without success. A recurring theme was the unpredictability of results, the emotional toll of unsuccessful treatments, and the importance of rest and managing expectations afterward to avoid overdoing activities during any period of relief.

Ive had several differant injections and epidurals in differant parts of my body. Its definetly normal to have some discomfort. I feel like every procedure affected me differant. Even repeat of the same injection in the same area. Some were pretty sore for days and then pain free for a few weeks. Other areas were extremely painful with no real relief. My best results were when I had minimal stress and relaxation for several days afterwards. If you do start feeling good don't over do it. I've hurt myself because I felt so much relief I attempted way more than I should of. Positive thoughts comming your way.

@A MyFibroTeam Member The injections were in the occipital and trapezius nerves. The escalated discomfort (from injections) has lightened. I honestly don't feel a difference in pain level. Now I feel lightheaded most of the time. I feel like it's creating symptoms I never experienced before. It probably sounds odd, but I have a distinct taste of metal in my mouth, and I feel like talking takes up more of my energy? Ugh, the weirdest things occur with Fibro! I'm so grateful for this forum, it really does help to talk it out.

Thank you @MyFibroTeam users... Your answers were very helpful and comforting ❤️

There is a chance that you'll hurt worse for a day or two after those shots. I've had them before and I start again in June. My Dr told me their not made to stop you from hurting but for them to get an idea of where the pain is really coming from then they will go in and deadin the nerves.
