Does any one use a Tens Unit/ENS unit? I find it helps and I use it as one of my tools in my arsenal.

TENS therapy stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation that uses a low-voltage electrical current to provide pain relief. Women are starting to use TENS as a natural pain reliever during childbirth and sufferers of fibromyalgia find that TENS provides great relief.

Members shared overwhelmingly positive experiences using TENS units for fibromyalgia pain, with many finding it especially helpful for back pain, trigger points, neck and shoulders, and even costochondritis flare-ups when used consistently for 30 minutes daily over several weeks. Several members offered practical advice, including rotating through different machine settings to prevent the body from adapting, placing pads directly on trigger points or areas of pain, and using it as a portable tool during work shifts or daily activities. A recurring theme was that while TENS doesn't eliminate pain completely, it provides meaningful relief as part of a broader pain management toolkit, with some members describing it as a godsend and preferring it over medication.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I put mine on the trigger points. Some days its the shoulder area others it might be the hips or knees that bother me more. I have other issues as well that I have been using the tens for longer than the fibro. After using it one day for my tendonitis, I realized that my flare had eased up as well and I've been using it as needed for the fibro ever since.

I'm glad you brought this up PamelaOdom, and you're explanation of the TENS Unit is very thorough and an option that many people have probably never heard of.
Having had back issues since I was 15yrs old, several years later after being hospitalized and going to all of the PT appt.s at the end they would hook up a big machine with wires and attach them where the most pain was and turn the knobs up as high as I could take and set the timer, darken the room and it was what I call Hurts so good feeling. The name of the machine was Omni-Stim and I wanted to own one. So when the first Tens unit that I saw on TV was offered I got one, of course they are completely portable and easy to carry around. I have two different units that have lasted for over 30yrs. I use them for the Fibro pains as well and I would highly recommend one. Anything that helps us that does not come in a pill form is preferred by me!

Yeah - I just dug mine out which I misplaced when we moved. I used it the first time in 10 months tonight at the base of my rib cage for my chostochondritis. I will also use at the other trigger points of FM and try to get consistent with it as part of my daily regime. Thank you so much for telling us how it works - I didn't fully understand it. I do now. Thanks and blessings.

I have a Tens unit that I use for my back. I never thought about using it for my fibro as well. I have no clue where to stick the pads to help the fibro pain...
