Members responded to the question about vitamin D levels and fibromyalgia by overwhelmingly confirming their own experiences with low levels, with many taking daily supplements ranging from 2,000 to 10,000 IUs and some adjusting doses seasonally or cycling off periodically to avoid excess buildup. Several members shared that vitamin D supplementation helps with depression, seasonal affective disorder, and fibromyalgia symptoms, though a few noted they didn't feel significantly better or grew tired of taking so many pills. A recurring theme was the importance of regular blood testing to monitor levels, the challenge of managing multiple deficiencies like B12 and B6 alongside vitamin D, and the mixed medical opinions, with some doctors strongly recommending it while others remained skeptical of its impact.

I take 2,000 IU's in the spring and summer and 4,000 in fall and winter. I really take it for seasonal affective disorder but I find it helps with the fibro too.

Mine was very low, diagnosed in February. Was taking 5000 units a day with a 10000 units once a week. Levels went up slowly. Weather got nice, went outdoors everyday (nice tan now lol) to get my vit. D naturally for 3 weeks. Got retested, levels have plummeted, so back to supplements.

Hi my friend takes a big dose of vit d for MS, so it must have some positive impact on pain and neurological complaints....interesting one!
I have very low vit d, so take supplements, doctor recommends it, but consultant not bothered, doesn't seem to think it makes any difference :)

Sounds like me. I think I'll always be on supplements. I just found out also my b12 and b6 are low. B6 is rare and I can't figure out that one
