This may sound weird but I need to know if anyone else has this feeling. There are some days where I get this weird feeling under my nails and it makes me feel like I need to rip them off. I wind up almost separating the skin from the nails or pushing down hard on my nails to try to get the feeling to stop. I am starting to wonder if I really am crazy.

Members responded to someone experiencing an uncomfortable sensation under their nails that made them want to pull them off, with most saying they hadn't experienced that exact symptom but offering solidarity and reassurance that the person wasn't crazy. Several members shared related experiences, including similar fingertip sensations relieved by pressing on nails, electric currents running through the body, sensitivity to touch, numbness from Raynaud's syndrome or carpal tunnel, and compulsive nail picking after a coma. A recurring theme was the unpredictable nature of fibromyalgia symptoms, with suggestions to check circulation, consider medication side effects, and consult a doctor about potentially tweaking anxiety medications.

Hi Kellie, haven't experienced this one. Just throwing this out there...how's the circulation in your finger tips? Are you using any nail polishes that might aggravate, or maybe some kind of neurological reaction. Obviously I am no expert, but it sounds distressing enough that you might see a doctor. You are not crazy, we all seem to get weird symptoms.

Hi Kegermadnik, Just wanted to let you know your not crazy and I'm glad I'm not either. I do have the strange sensations at my fingertips that's hard to explain. When that happens I also press down on the tips of my nails too. It doesn't happen constantly no rhyme or reason. I also at times feels like a electric current or vibration that runs through my body especially when lying in bed. Just wanted to share. πŸ˜‡

I didn't have that exact symptom. But I do have times I don't want water touching me or anything touching me. I did have fingertip issues with numbing, I was diagnosed with Raynaud's syndrome along with Carpal Tunnel.

Not one bit. After I woke up after my coma I have picked my nails down until they bleed. My nails use to be so long and pretty and tough. Now I have none. I look at myself and I know for a fact my mom had this too. We were both in a coma for the same thing. Stupid UTI. My mom started picking her nails off too. I understand why you hurt so bad Mom. Rip I love you.
