I use to be a social drinker in the past. Now lucky if I have one drink a yr. with all the medications I am on between my migraines et fibro not something I'd recommend. Need to be very careful when on any kind of medication et drinking alcohol:(

I took gabapentin ages ago and did not like the effects. I currently take no meds - just an Advil or Aspirin once in a while to take the edge off arthritis pain or a headache. Alcohol - makes my fibro flare right up....No - not a hangover as I will only have one or two light drinks. So needless to say I stay away from the booze. And never, ever mix alcohol with any meds --- you just never know what reaction your body will have. Fibro is a freaky disease and "anything" is possible.....

My doctor pushes Gabapentin. I inmediately did not like the way it made me feel since the beginning plus any medicine that I see weight gain as a side effect I am not a fan of anyways. So I do not take it. I would also not recommend alcohol with any prescription medicines.

Actually it is recommended with most if not all medications that you do not take alcohol with them. Some can cause the effects to become worse esp. with your nervous system...from drowsiness, dizziness, diff. concentrating, impaired thinking et judgement. Not only that could end up with a poss. overdose, ect. Just not something I'd do. But everyone does there own thing...I'd just beware et be very very careful. The medications we receive aren't anything to mess with. Or any meds for that fact:) Hope you have a wonderful day. God bless.
