Pain Doctor For Chronic Fatigue?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone gone to their pain doctor for their chronic fatigue? My pain doctor is the one who helped my pain go away and I trust him with my life. My primary doctor said she doesn't treat chronic fatigue syndrome and wants me to see a rheumatologist for it but I would trust my pain doctor who I have been seeing for a couple of years instead on another new doctor. Has anyone seen their pain doctor for severe chronic fatigue and been treated for it? Please help me because I am desperate!

I'm finding that the more I stay away from gluten and processed foods the stronger I'm feeling. If I don't start my day immediately w protein and fruit I'm literally a "drag." 😉

I am Fortunate to have been referred by Stanford University to an Infectious Disease Spec. Fall 2013.
He diagnosed the CF in addition to the FM of 16 years. His experience, pertinent notes, and extensive lab work, allowed me to attain Total Disability. I see this as an opportunity to get well, then return to some type of gainful employment, not the stressful profession that I was in.
The BEST I've experienced for CF is detoxing, oxygenating the body and mind through light exercise, healthy eating, self-awareness, psychotherapy, mindfulness, and focusing on positivity. i am able to do this as a result of good SLEEP!
My doc referred me to a sleep specialist who determined that all phases of my sleep were highly disturbed.
It took only three months of using my machine to get me at a normal read. I helped my sleep during this time by using my cpap while reading, resting, and watching tv during other times of the day. I use it every night until I return to my sleep doc in December.
Best of Health!

Hi Michelle,

Don't panic , there is help out there!
I've used both my rheumologist and my pain doctors for FM/CF symptoms. Specifically, I've had trigger point injections into my neck and shoulder for chronic spasms. And my rheumatologist has prescribed Meds and follows blood for auto immune. I hi K most docs lump it all together

But the best advice I've found so far is from the book Medical Medium. The author is Anthony William and it is about clean eating, detoxing and adding supplements. It works, it does take some time. He does recommend a 28 day detox diet that I have been following closely but not completely. Will possibly do this summer. Anyway the book is very inspiring! Very comforting and there are millions of people following him now. Check him out on FB too under Medical Medium He addresses foods to absolutely avoid and foods to include depending on your diagnoses. It's a baby steps process but each step you include is a step towards healing! Hang in there!

I agree with the gluten angle. And processed foods. Since Inhad to modify my diet for my type 2 diabetes, my Fibro has been more under control. Salads, fresh veggies, sugar free things, less caffeine, Protein. I've lost 24 lbs that way.
