I had high liver enzymes and instead of my primary going through my meds she wanted me to have a liver biopsy -which would bring in big bucks for the group of course-I went to see a hematologist and in talking he asked me if I drank quinine water I said no but my med for PMR IS QUININE -so he said to get more blood work right away I said would it not make sense to wait since I had just had it done-again more bucks for the group-so I stopped the med and had the bloodwork repeated and the numbers came down to normal limits-my primary said did you talk to your rheumatologist first she may want you keep taking the med I thought why would I take a med that would give me liver disease duh duh-if she had been doing her job I would have not had a lot of anxiety -just like when she told me I had heart disease when the EKG was read wrong and had to go through much anxiety -when my brother was dying-and wait 2 weeks for an Echo-the tech who did my echo said the EKG was ok-and the results of the echo were normal for my age-thank goodness I now have Xanax ordered by a NP from another group.

About 8 yrs ago I asked my dr for a hep c test, we could not figure out what was going on with me. He ran the test, it was positive for hep c 1b... I never used needles, never, I drank in my teens, when I found out I was pregnant I quit all together.
When I gave birth to my youngest daughter I tore very bad, they gave me 2 units of blood from the same man. 1982 . They did not test blood for hepatitis until 1986. I have had many a blood test over the years and no-one ever caught this.
A fatty liver means that you need to loose weight, I had pain in the upper right side and I had several mobile gall stones, they rushed me into surgery and removed my gallbladder. I have an attentive Dr now, on Tuesday this week I had an ultrasound on my liver, today I got a call from my Dr who made me an appointment asap to her busy schedule, I had one already set up for May.
Now is when we should panic, to soon for revisit just because.... Wish me luck and some prayers would be appreciated....
Point...dont go looking for doom and gloom. I have been very negative over the last few years. I need a bright side, its in my hands and I decided to go for it, now I am worried about the future and the road I chose to go down today. It is bright and has lots of love in it. I want to be able to take this journey, and enjoy the rest of my chapters with this man.
All I know is that some of the depression meds can cause high enzyme readings. I am allergic to all of them so my enzymes have been okay. I keep Xanax on hand as needed for panic attacks. I take half of a .5 so it is very low dose and it is actually one of the safer meds at low dose, according to my psychiatrist.
