Have you guys found essential oils to be worthwhile and helpful? I'm a teacher on a budget and am on the holistic approach, but am kinda skeptical about essential oils for these aches, pains, fatigue, etc. I don't have the budget, nor the patience to try this scent or that one. If you've personally used them (and aren't biased bc you sell them), which scents have helped you the most and with which symptoms?

Members shared mixed experiences with essential oils for fibromyalgia symptoms, with lavender emerging as the most recommended option for relaxation and sleep, followed by peppermint for headaches and energy, and sweet marjoram for muscle pain relief. Several members emphasized that effectiveness varies greatly between individuals and cautioned that quality matters, recommending slow experimentation rather than expensive brand-name products, with some finding relief through diffusers or topical applications while others noticed only pleasant scents without pain reduction. A recurring theme was the importance of treating essential oils as real medicine requiring research and knowledge, balancing realistic expectations with an openness to their potential benefits for calming an overactive nervous system.

Slightly off topic (pain), I use tea tree and make my own shampoo and body wash. It helps with my itchy crawling sensation. The only thing I have found to work similar is a. PH balanced shampoo body wash the hospital gave us to use. And I imagine it would be quite expensive. Hope this helps someone. Lavender oil for sleep, mint(s) to help perk you up. I spritz my Pillow's thewith lavender. And in the summer make a mint tea to spirtz on myself when I am dragging. Grandma's recipe's from old. Also get some fresh lavender and make a little sachet to put under your pillow. There is a lavender farm in Dahlonega on red oak flats Rd off of hwy 60 and off old Dahlonega hwy. I see the signs haven't stopped yet, so I do not know the prices.

I'm also new to essential oils, having just bought a diffuser and some blends. I also do not sell them. But I also don't think I've been using them long enough to give you a good answer! I agree that a huge part of their benefit is soothing the mind on some level. I only just tried a topical treatment (using a carrier oil, of course) and felt that it worked rather well. I bought my oils online from Eden's Garden. From what I understand, they are on the less expensive side because they do not sell wholesale and they are based in CA and ship free to the US! I've been diffusing the "Good night" blend as well as "Relaxation" and have found them really enjoyable and haven't had an issue sleeping since.

I just started using essential oils. I dont sell them. I did significant research before I purchased them. I used tax money. In order for them to do the job they must be good quality free from any junk. Just like anything else we use :) I havent been using them long enough to recommend any particular one or blend. I was raised with a natural approach. So although I am new to essential oils, I am not new to herbs. Which is what essential oils are derived from. I have had very much success from many different herbs throughout my life. So I am in No doubt that the essential oils will work! The problem is that we try to soothe our muscles and joints but not our minds. It truly is priority. I just added bergamot to my collection and am very excited to use it. My advice to you is, if you dont have the time, energy or desire to do the research required then it most likely wont be beneficial. Many people dont see herbs/essential oils as medicine. But they most certainly are and should be treated as so. Its very important to have the knowledge involving herbs in order for them to work properly. Just like Drs go to school to gain the knowledge. There are tons of books and lots of info on the internet. I will post in a few more weeks what oils make the most difference for me. I also agree with AnickPaquin, it is most definitely individual especially with illnesses like FM. That is another reason why you need to have at least basic knowledge. So you know which oils to use for your individual problems. I pray you get the answers and relief you need!!
