Does Anyone Else Get Severe Muscle Spasms With Fibro?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I was diagnosed with Fibro in 1992, I get severe muscle spasms in my ankles, my feet, my hands. sides, upper back of the arms and in my upper inner thighs and back of the calf. Sometimes multiple places at once. When I start to yell, my family starts running, one heats up my heating pad, one grabs me a bottle of water, I grab my anti-spasmatic Xanax and another grabs the apple vinegar bottle. I apply the heat to the area, I drink the water & take the pill, I take a couple swigs of vinegar and… read more

My husband gets horrible muscle spasms I his calves and thighs. I do the same run for heat pad, muscle relaxors and Gatorade. Gatorade seems to help him the quickest.

My husband who does not have fibro gets sever muscle spasms in his calves and thighs. It has dropped him to the floor. I would run for heating pad, water and muscle relaxer , then I read online someone said to drink Gator Aid That worked better than anything. As soon as it starts he starts drinking it and it cuts the time he is in pain allot. I have them with fibro in my back. I cannot sit down sometimes with them. Hang in there!

My husband gets these and has fallen to the floor in pain! He has found Gatorade helps him quickly and a muscle relaxer with heating pad on cramp.

My doctor just put me a new muscle relaxer to take at night time call Tizanidine for the cramp, and spasms. I really cant tell a difference yet, maybe it takes a bit. She also told me to drink more water and also my counselor told me to drink lots of water and eat bananas. Plus she gave me some exercises to do before i go to bed and to take a hot shower. Also wants me to walk 3 x a week for 15 minutes. I come home exhausted and then I have to go walk? This is so dang hard, I know these doctors specialize in these areas but it's like they don't understand you in constant pain. It is very frustration.

Have you gotten blood work done? I know that potassium levels are related to muscle cramps as well as dehydration.
