Members overwhelmingly confirmed that waking up in severe pain and stiffness is a common and frustrating experience with fibromyalgia, with many describing needing one to two hours just to become functional enough to start their day. Several members shared helpful strategies including taking anti-inflammatory medications like Advil or Tylenol upon waking, using heated blankets at night to reduce morning stiffness, and doing gentle stretches before even getting out of bed. A recurring theme was the unpredictability and difficulty of mornings, with most members feeling their worst during this time and not fully alert or capable until around midday.

I agree.I really dislike mornings.Up until around 1 PM I can't seem to get my head on straight. It is like a fog.I think if we don't sleep well it only makes sense. When I plan my daily goal it's always after that time when I feel like I can drive. Thanks, for sharing.

Yes unfortunately this is very common in fibro :/ I recommended taking an anti inflammatory like Advil, alieve, or you could use something like Tylenol. Another thing that really helps me is sleeping with a heated blanket! I wake less stiff and in less pain. Stretching out (gently) in morning and evening will help too. Feel better xoxo
