@A MyFibroTeam Member BethanyWilson's link is spot on. They are like lumps under the skin and when pressed on, cause pain. I know I used to be able to have them massaged, and when that was done, the lump would 'break up'...at this point, they no longer break up and I haven't been able to get a massage in a long time because of the pain. From what I hear, massages can help some people. I believe the term is interchangeable with 'trigger points'.
I feel like I get a fibro knot on my left side of my butt, when my pain starts to get real bad. A literal pain in the a## lol. (Really at the time nothing to laugh at, because it causes me the most pain). It eventually works it's way out. Walking a bit helps it.
OMG!!! I totally get jerks and spasms in my hands!!! I have asked all of my Drs. what it is, and none of them gave me a definitive answer. I'm so glad to hear that it's another symptom that someone else has besides me!! Hugs to you and thanks!!!!
I get those too in my lower back on my buttock it gets so bad I can barely walk I shuffle more than anything. I stretch out I stretch my leg I walk but it takes quite a bit to work it out. and you are right its a literal pain in the toucus.
